theWorkbook Expands its Original Content with Center Stage: Live

theWorkbook is extending its Center Stage brand into live programming following the breakout performance of its digital magazine, amassing a Reach of 190 million across 21 English and Spanish editions to date.

The global casting and production SaaS platform this month launched Center Stage: Live, debuting with a 90-minute panel titled “A Conversation with the Leaders Shaping Vertical Microdramas.” The session drew viewers spanning 21 countries, underscoring the growing interest in the short-form mobile-first format.

The event streamed from a theater at the Vancouver Film School, with panelists joining from Vancouver, Los Angeles and Mexico City. Panelists included casting directors, agents, producers, directors and actors currently active in the Vertical Microdrama space.

Rather than a presentation-style webinar, the session was positioned as an open industry conversation, generating more than 100 audience-submitted questions and sustained live engagement throughout.

Vertical Microdramas are serialized episodes produced specifically for mobile viewing, they have seen accelerated expansion in North America after proving demand in Asian markets. Topics addressed during the panel included monetization models, casting dynamics, platform algorithms and how the format coexists alongside traditional film and television production.

Vancouver-based theWorkbook operates a global casting and production platform serving industry professionals across North America, Latin America and Europe. The company said additional Center Stage: Live conversations are planned as it continues to build out the franchise beyond its magazine roots.

A recording of the session is available on the Center Stage YouTube Channel.
